How to expose the Fund Selector in the Donations Module

The Fund Selector feature in the Donations Module allows you to give donors the option to select which fund they would like their donation to support.

As a Campaign Admin, you can allow your donors to choose where they would prefer their dollars be allocated. Admins can assign which funds are available for a donor to select from, and optionally create a short list of up to three funds that will appear at the top of the donor-facing fund selector to highlight specific fund in the larger list.

How Fund Selection works

When Fund Selection is enabled, donors will be able to select one fund per transaction from a dropdown menu during the donation process.

The fund selector is presented to the donor after they have entered the amount they would like to donate and appears near the beginning of the donation flow.

Configuring Fund Selection

Before a fund can be allocated to a campaign or event, it must first be added to your account through the General Setup tab.

Once your funds have been added:

  1. Navigate to the Campaign Admin for the campaign or event.
  2. Select the Allocate Fund(s) tab.
  3. Select the funds you would like to make available to donors.
  4. Optionally, create a short list of up to three funds to appear at the top of the donor-facing dropdown.
  5. Save your changes.

The selected funds will then be available for donors to choose from during the donation flow.

Fund display order

You can choose to create a short list of up to three funds that you would like to feature prominently for donors:

  • Short list: Featured funds appear first in the dropdown, in the order configured.
  • Remaining funds: Any other allocated funds appear alphabetically after the short-listed funds.
  • No short list: If no funds are short-listed, all allocated funds appear in alphabetical order.
  • Number of funds: There is no maximum number of funds that can be made available to donors. However, consider the donor experience when adding a large number of funds, as a long list may make it more difficult for donors to find and select their preferred fund.

What the donor sees

Once a donor has entered their desired donation amount, they will be presented with the available funds in a dropdown menu. The donor can select one fund to designate where their donation should be allocated.

For example, if an organization has short-listed three funds, those funds will appear first, followed by any remaining allocated funds in alphabetical order.
