Depending on the terms of the match, the donor may match donations dollar-for-dollar, contribute a set amount for every dollar raised, or match donations up to a predetermined maximum.  **1.1 Why apply matching gifts in raisin?** Uploading matching gifts as offline donations allows you to reflect the additional fundraising dollars across your event, participant, and team thermometers. This helps ensure fundraising totals accurately reflect the **impact of the matching opportunity** and **allows supporters to see the match reflected** on the event's donor honour rolls. --- ### 2.0 Record matching gifts in raisin **2.1 Announce the match** Announce the matching opportunity to participants and donors. Common approaches include: - Adding the announcement to the main event page. - Send an email to participants outlining the matching opportunity (scheduled email on raisin or through organization's method of choice). **2.2 Pull the donation data** To apply the matching amounts to individual participants, teams, and the overall event thermometer, you'll need to upload the matched donations as offline donations via CSV. These donations **should remain unconfirmed in raisin** because: - They should not generate tax receipts at the participant level. - They should not export to your Donor Management System (DMS), since the matching donation has likely already been recorded and receipted separately in your DMS. To identify the donations eligible for matching: - Navigate to Analytics \> Reports \> Donor Reports. - Generate a report of donations received during the matching period. - Apply any relevant filters, including: - Date and time range. - Campaign ID. - Minimum donation amount or other matching criteria, if applicable. - Export the report and retain the following information: - Donation Amount. - Sponsored User ID, if applicable. - Sponsored Team ID, if applicable. **2.3 Prepare your CSV** Navigate to the event's **Confirm Offline Pledges** tab to access the CSV templates and specifications sheet. ![](https://knowledgebase.akaraisin.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-20-2026-01-44-06-1732-PM.png?width=528&height=270&name=undefined-Oct-20-2026-01-44-06-1732-PM.png)  - Refer to the [Knowledgebase article](https://knowledgebase.akaraisin.com/en/support/revenue-management/offline-pledges/how-to-import-offline-donations-via-csv-file?hsLang=en)on uploading offline donations for additional guidance. - Make sure to use the **Pledge CSV template**, as the template differs for Pledge and Multi-Pledge events. - Only columns marked **YES** in the specifications sheet are required, along with the relevant Sponsored User ID or Sponsored Team ID, where applicable. - For every line item in your CSV, use the following values: | **Field** | **Value** | **Purpose** | | --- | --- | --- | | PaymentSourceID | 14 | Categorizes donations as *Fundraising Bonus* for easier reporting. | | Donor First Name | Match | Displays on the honour roll. | | Donor Last Name | Match | Displays on the honour roll. | | DonorIsCompany | 0 | Indicates the donor is not a company. | | IsConfirmed | 0 | Prevents a tax receipt from being issued. | | ShowNameInHonourRoll | 1 | Displays the Donor's name on the honour roll. | | ShowAmountInHonourRoll | 1 | Display the donation amount on the honour roll. | **Important:** If you want the donations to export to your CRM, set `IsConfirmed` to `1` instead. However, if the matching donations have already been recorded and receipted separately in your CRM, leave this value at `0` to avoid duplicate records.  **2.4 Test your upload** Return to the event's **Confirm Offline Pledges** tab. Before uploading the entire file, upload **one record first** to confirm that the match applies correctly. Verify that: - The participant's or team's thermometer increases by the matching amount. - The matching donor appears on the honour roll (e.g., Royal Canin Match) in the participant's donation scroll. **2.5 Carry-out the upload** Once you've verified that your test record uploaded correctly, and the matching amount is reflected as expected, you can proceed with the full upload.  - Add all remaining matching gifts to your prepared CSV file, ensuring each record includes the correct donation amount and applicable Sponsored User ID or Sponsored Team ID. - Double-check that all required fields are completed and that the values are consistent across all records. - Upload the completed CSV file through the **Confirm Offline Pledges** tab of your event. - Verify that the matching gifts have been applied correctly to the relevant participant and team thermometers, as well as the overall event thermometer. Confirm that the matching donor's name and donation amounts appear on the appropriate donor honour rolls.
