Can I use Grammarly while editing my event?

Use Grammarly with caution in the Website CMS.

The Grammarly browser plug-in is a wonderful tool that can work wonders for polishing your writing online. When building your event site in the Website CMS, however, use Grammarly at your own risk.

The plug-in reads all of the content that you compose, and proofs it in line. If it finds any mistakes, Grammarly will leave tags, comments and buttons that are saved into the code of the content you're working on. Sometimes, these are even hidden.

The elements Grammarly adds can in turn affect your beautiful fundraising site and negatively impact user experience, like:

  • Numbers in margins or between paragraph (identifying typos)
  • White space in margins that impacts site responsiveness
  • Invisible buttons in the code creating inconsistent heights between content
  • Obscure pre-formatted blocks

For this reason, we would strongly recommend disabling the browser plug-in before you log into the Website CMS by following these steps: https://support.grammarly.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000091612-Disable-the-Grammarly-extension-on-one-or-more-websites.

If you find unusual formatting or numbers, contact your Account Manager, who can assist with removing these tags.
