How do I connect my Global Payments Ecommerce Hosted Account in raisin?

The steps to connect your Global Payments Ecommerce account in raisin

raisin uses "Hosted Payments" across the platform, which allows us to provide top-level security to you and your generous supporters.

With hosted payments, payment fields (Card Number, Card Name, Expiry and CVV) are rendered, or "embedded," within your raisin event pages, but are physically hosted by your payment gateway provider, Global Payments. This allows payment information to be processed directly through Global Payments without ever going through raisin.

Below are the steps to connect your Global Payments Ecommerce - Hosted to raisin

  1. Navigate to Manage Payment Accounts under General Setup.

  2. Click Create New Payment Account.

  3. 3. Establish an Account Name for the new Global Payments Ecommerce Hosted account. This can be anything you'd like.

  4. 4. Choose "Global Payments Ecommerce - Hosted" from the drop-down list of Payment Gateways.

  5. Choose the currency of the gateway (Canadian or US Dollars)

  6. Enter your Merchant ID, Global Account ID, and Global Shared Secret. You can get these details from your Global Payments account

  7. Set your Global Fraud Filter Mode. Fraud filter is a function of Global payments that offers another level of protection to prevent payment fraud on your account. You can find out more about it here

  8. Create a Transaction Code Prefix. The Transaction Code prefix is public facing, and will be part of the Transaction Code and Order ID reported in raisin and your Global journal respectively. This can be anything you'd like and will help you identify transactions that came through raisin.

  9. Leave the Test Account box unchecked

  10. Click Add

The styling of Hosted Payment fields comes directly from Global Payments, since it is hosted on their platform. Global Payments has default styling for these fields. Therefore, it will automatically inherit the following styling

raisin has developed a different template, that can be uploaded to your Global Payments account, which modifies the styling of the Payment Fields, to align with the other Fields, within your raisin events.

If your organization would prefer to use raisin's styling template, please contact your dedicated Client Experience Manager. They will provide this template, which you will need to send to your representative at Global Payments, or email them directly at  ca.ecomsupport@globalpay.com, and  request they upload it to your Account ID, in Global Payments

Once the template is uploaded, it may take up to 4 hours for the new form styling to render on your raisin events, that is using your Global Payments Ecommerce - Hosted Payment Account.

raisin is not able to make specific styling changes to its template. However, if you would prefer to use Global Payments Form template, you can contact your representative, and request to make changes to the styling, if needed.

Please note only one template can be used per account, as all Events will share the same CSS application for the Payment Fields. This means, if your organization decides to use Global Payment's default template, or raisin's, either will cascade across all of your live Events.

As well, due to the hosted payments form, raisin is no longer able to support the amount within the "Donate" button on the Donations Form, on the Donations module. This button will now display as "Donate Now", and the amount will be included in a message directly under the button. Please see raisin's template above for reference.

Begin using your payment gateway on raisin events

You can now begin using your new payment gateway on your raisin events. Before setting the new Payment Gateway Account on your events, we strongly recommend testing the gateway to make sure the set up was error free and it can successfully process payments.

Follow these steps to test your payment gateway

Go to Events, and select one of your events with donations enabled.
If the event is on Multi-Pledge, Donations or Ticketing, go to Event Details, and scroll to Payment Account. If the event is on Pledge, go to Location Details, and scroll to the Payment Account.
Select the name of the Hosted Payments account you added, to make the event live.
Save.
Launch the front-end site and make a small donation.
Regardless of the result, go to Reports > Transactions Report and check the payment status. If it was Failed, then the payment status will indicate the reasons Global declined the payment and may indicate an issue with your account, or that credentials were entered incorrectly. Contact Global and your raisin Client Experience Manager if this occurs.
Log in to your Global Payments account (not in raisin), and check the status of the payment you just submitted.

If the test is successful, you can use this payment gateway for your events going forward

Please note that there is a 3 second delay with Global Payments Hosted Form, loading on the Payments Page, in your raisin event. This delay comes directly from Global Payments, due to the form being embedded via iframe. Raisin does not have any control with this load time.
