Participants or Event Purchasers who have forgotten their username or password can request or reset it from the Login page of your events.
Peer-to-Peer fundraisers or Ticketing event purchasers requesting account information have the option to request their event username or securely reset their password from the Register or Login pages of events.
Forgot Username
When participants request a username and enter the e-mail address associated with their account, they'll receive a Message Template called "Username Request". The message is customizable within your events, but should contain, at minimum, their username. You also have the option to add a merge field with the last event it was active in.
The username can be used to login to the event or request a password.
Knowing that some participants, like families, have multiple accounts associated with a single e-mail address, users might be asked for their first name and last name so that we can send them the proper credentials.
Forgot Password
Participants who have forgotten their password will also be able to create a new one upon request. After clicking "Forgot Password" and verifying their username and e-mail address, a "Password Reset Request" Message Template is sent to them.
The e-mail contains a link which brings the user back to your event and instructs them to create a new password that can be used to fundraise with moving forward.
Merge Fields
The above methods allow for secure password reset in the context of our upgraded Peer-to-Peer module. During registration, the "Individual Registers (Account Information Sent)" Message Template can contain a "Participant Password" merge field that populates with the user's password when they register.
Note: Effective February 26, 2020, we will no longer support this merge field. It will not populate in any message. We advise removing it from any communication.
Administrators
In raisin Admin, all passwords are secured using strong encryption. Passwords are hidden for participant security, however, organization administrators with User Management permissions have the ability to reset a participant's password on request from their profile. More details on the tools available to admins can be found here.
