What is a custom tax receipt template and can it be edited?

The custom tax receipt template is a receipt that is created by one of our designers. The custom tax receipt can range in style, but it's the organization that requests the particular branding.

A custom tax receipt template is a single PDF template designed by creative team to the exact brand and field specifications of your organization, and then deployed to your raisin account at a cost.
Typically, organizations will select the custom tax receipt template for our developers to create a letter tax receipt or for special events where you'd like to brand a receipt different for a single event than for your organization.

Updates to Custom Receipts

As the template is created as single PDF file, any changes, such as a signature or logo, require re-implementation of the template in full. Given the implications of receipting to charitable organizations, we treat implementation with extreme sensitivity following these steps:

  1. Creative mock-up with updated signature, sent for your approval
  2. Once approved, implementation of dynamic receipt fields, including Donor Name, Receiptable Amount, Location Issued, as required by CRA guidelines.
  3. Testing locally to ensure placement and population of dynamic receipt fields
  4. Deployment on the raisin

How do I edit my custom tax receipt?

There is a billable cost of $450 and a turnaround time of 15 business days if you'd like to use the custom template.

When updating your tax receipt, you have two options if you’re currently using a Custom Template. The first would be for our designers to develop a new tax receipt, which includes the new signature; however, there is a billable cost of $450 and a turnaround time of 15 business days. Something to note is any adjustment requires our developers to create a new receipt. This means whether the request is a signature adjustment or a complete redesign, the cost is the same.
The second option would be to use a Standard System Template, which allows you to create your tax receipt and update the signature/information yourself. Please see my webinar below, which explains how to create, save, and implement these receipts:
