Why can't I save a message template?

To comply with Google and Yahoo's email authentication standards, Sender Domains must be verified as authenticated before messages can be saved.

Effective February 1, 2024, Google and Yahoo began to require that all bulk sender emails are authenticated with SPF, DKIM and DMARC.

As a result, we, too, now require that SPF and DKIM authentication and a DMARC policy is published on your domain for all providers you use to ensure emails sent from your fundraising campaigns are not automatically spammed, or worse, that the sender reputation of your domain is damaged (i.e. blacklisted).

Saving Message Template with invalid domains

When you attempt to save a Message Template in General Setup or in an Event, the system will check your message's Sender Domain -- that is, everything after @ in the "From (Sender E-mail)" field -- against the Registered Domains in System Settings menu.

If we find that there is not a match or that the domain you're trying to send from is not authenticated, an error reading will appear:

Sender Email (From) in domain name is not verified. Only verified domain names are allowed to be used in the sender email address. Please add and verify the domain under Maintenance -> System Settings

You will be unable to save the message until the Sender Domain is properly authenticated and authenticated in raisin.

Validating the domain

To do validate the domain, follow the steps detailed here and enter the Sender Domain plus the Domain Selector that your Client Experience Manager provided. You may need to add authentication with your IT team through your domain's DNS Settings.

After the domain is validated and it reads "Successful" in System Settings, you'll be able to return and save the message.
